Hammond M3
1960
s/n 141788
Electrolytic capacitors replaced October 2019.
Modifications:
· ¼” line out with speaker mute switch.
· “Poor Man’s Foldback” – allows upper manual 1’ drawbar to produce tones all the way up the keyboard.
· Upper Manual Tapering – increases the volume of top one and a half octave of the first three drawbars (16’ 5-1/3’ 8’). This makes the organ more closely resemble the volume curve of a console Hammond (B3, A100, etc).
· Percussion/Drawbar volume balance – maintains upper manual drawbar volumes when percussion volume ‘normal’ tablet is engaged.
Some notes:
· Upper manual 1’ drawbar will not sound when percussion is engaged. This is standard for any Hammond.
Using the Drawbars:
· The white drawbars and the 16’ brown are your consonant sounds. Use these to build the foundation of your sound
· The black drawbars and the 5-1/3’ brown are your dissonant sounds. Use these to add color to your sound.
· On the lower manual, the first seven drawbars are the same as the last seven on the upper manual. The lower manual’s eighth drawbar is a mixture of 10th and 12th harmonics.
